Apart from this, rakhis with bangles popularly known as Lumba Rakhi and Rudraksh Rakhi are also attracting customers ahead of Rakshabandhan.
Annu Gupta, who sells Rakhi in Kothaparcha, said, ‘The sale of Rakhi has increased UP In the market before the festival. Rakhi greeting cards are in great demand this time. We have placed special orders for such greeting cards from West Bengal.”
Gupta further added, “In the age of social media and messaging apps, shopkeepers are shocked to see such high demand and sale of greeting cards. Many customers, especially women, are choosing cards based on their content.”
“These are value-added cards whose sales proceeds go towards profit for a good cause. This promises to boost the card business during the festive season,” said another seller from Civil Lines.
