LUCKNOW: Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday cited half-a-dozen examples to establish that the BJP government, in a planned way, is conspiring to demolish enterprises and projects that were set up during the SP rule.
Terming it as a form of political intolerance, he said the irony is that such conspiracies would eventually take their toll on the wellbeing of people who are availing services of these institutes. Citing specific examples to back his allegations, the SP president, who is also the leader of the opposition in the state assembly, said a conspiracy is being hatched to ruin the Saifai University of Medical Sciences.
“Initially, there was an inordinate delay in the release of the budget for the university. Now, the government is planning to reduce the number of contractual workers engaged by the university. In 2016, the then SP government started setting up an Itra Park at Kannauj to boost itra business. The project was stopped midway soon after the BJP government came to power in 2017. Apparently, the BJP government does not like the itra of Kannauj,” he said.
Akhilesh said the government was not only targeting institutions in Kannauj, but also neglecting projects that came up in the SP regime in other parts of the state. “Why should projects bear the brunt of political vendetta when they are only meant for the public welfare,” he added.
