PRAYAGRAJ: Amid chants of “Jai Shri Ram” and “Bharat mata ki jai“, Union home minister Amit Shah took out a roadshow in support of BJP candidates, in Prayagraj,
Addressing the massive crowd that gathered to welcome him, Shah urged the voters to ensure the victory of BJP candidates.
The 4-km long roadshow traversed through allahpur, matiyara road, Alopibagh, Madhwapur, Baihrana, Kotha Parcha, Ram Bhawan, Sulaki crossing, Bahadurganj and Loknath areas which were decorated with saffron flags and colorful balloons.
Party workers also carried cutouts of Union home minister Amit Shah, deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya and party candidate from Allahabad South constituency and cabinet minister Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’.
People came out on the terrace of their houses to welcome Shah who moved on a vehicle decorated with flowers.
BJP MP’s Keshri Devi Patel, Rita Bahuguna Joshi and Anil Jain, besides party candidates from Allahabad North, Harshwardhan Bajpai, and Prayagraj mayor Abhilasha Gupta ‘Nandi’ were also on the open truck.
People also took selfies with party workers who were wearing saffron turbans. The crowd increased manifold after local residents joined the roadshow and shouted slogans in praise of Shah and other leaders.
The roadshow was welcomed by traders and volunteers of other social organizations at 30 spots.
