The Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) has reduced the number of seats it is contesting in the ongoing UP assembly elections. The party, which is contesting its first election ever in the state, had initially announced to contest 165 seats but it will contest 102 seats now. The party has decided to not field candidates on the seats where JD(U) has declared its candidates. VIP and JD(U) are alliance partners in Bihar government.
