Sub-Divisional Magistrate (USA) Umakant Tiwari As per information received from villagers and cowsheds, no cattle have died in the district.
He said the possibility of the bodies coming from the neighboring district could not be ruled out.
The SDM said that the carcasses of the cattle were taken out from the river and buried in the pits with the help of JCB.
Tiwari said investigation is on to ascertain the origin of the bodies.
