Uttar Pradesh: 2 held for provoking students to disturb rail traffic near Prayag railway station | Allahabad News – Times of India

PRAYAGRAJ: Cops on Wednesday claimed to have arrested two persons identified as Pradeep Kumar and Mukesh Yadavwho had allegedly proved students preparing for competitive exams to stop the passenger train near Prayag Railway Station on Tuesday afternoon.
Deputy SP (Colonelganj) Ajeet Singh Chauhan told TOI that police have arrested two persons who had not only provoked students preparing for competitive exams and staying in private hostels and lodges to stop passenger train at Prayag railway station but also encouraged them to pelt stones on police parties when police teams had gone for search operation.
He added that police had video-graphed the entire agitation at Prayag railway station when scores of students assembled at the station to stop a passenger train in support of their demand.
DSP claimed that after scanning the videography of the entire incident, the police have identified those men who led the students and established their identities including Pradeep and Mukesh .
DSP claimed that students preparing for competitive exams were used as tool kit by the two persons.
Once their identities was made, police teams on Tuesday evening carried out raids at a private hostel cum lodge and appealed the students to come out from their respective rooms so that they could be able to catch the real offenders.
However, when students refused to listen to them, the police then used mild force to take the students out from their respective rooms.
However, taking the issue seriously regarding the forcibly taking students out from their rooms and policemen using weapons to break doors of hostel rooms, the senior superintendent of police (Prayagraj) has suspended three police constables on the charges of deeliction of duties on Wednesday.
DSP meanwhile, said that a through probe was conducted into the entire incident and agitators had also pelted stones on police party when they had gone for search operation of the so called student leaders who led the entire agitation.
More than a dozen policemen were hurt in the stone pelting, claimed the senior police officials.
Meanwhile SP (city) Dinesh Kumar Singh told TOI that police teams had conducted search operation at a private hostel cum lodge to catch those offenders who had allegedly led the entire agitation and planned to disturb the rail traffic movement at Prayag railway station on Tuesday afternoon.
However, it was alert GRP, RPF and local police that foiled the students’ agitation and chased them away from the Prayag railway station.
SP added that police had identified the trouble makers who had provoked students to take law in their hands and registered a case under appropriate sections in the same regard.
