Varanasi: The ashes of the great singer Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar immersed in the river Ganges by his family members in Varanasi on Tuesday.
He breathed his last on 6 February at a hospital in Mumbai.
Lata Mangeshkar’s sister Usha Mangeshkar Reached Varanasi along with other family members with the ashes. they took a boat Khidkiya Ghat From where he went to Ahilyabai Ghat.
after performing Vedic rituals At the ghat, the ashes were immersed in the middle of the Ganges under the guidance of priest Shrikant Pathak.
His fans present at the ghat paid tribute to the departed soul. The family returned to Mumbai after offering prayers at Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
