US Teen Kills Parents, Shoots Officer In Bodycam Footage

The 19-year-old killed his parents in their home in Tampa, Florida, and shot an officer during the shooting, which was captured on the injured deputy’s body camera. US authorities released body camera video of the shooting with a teenager who was also shot.

Christos Alexander Themelis shot his 51-year-old father, Christos Byron Themelis, in his home and then shot his 48-year-old mother, Rebecca Ann Themelis, in front of officers shortly after 11 p.m. Sunday, the Sheriff’s Office said. According to the report, the office said.

Officers arrived at the home after a “frantic” 911 call was made by Rebecca Ann Themelise, who told the operator her son had shot her husband.

When the police arrived at the house, they asked the woman to walk towards them, a photo posted on Facebook shows. But the teenager hit him on the back of the head while he was on the grass. After that, he opened fire on the policemen.

“Stop reaching for your belt,” the deputy was heard yelling at the youth shortly before the shooting.

Shane McGough, 26, was shot in the leg in the shootout, authorities said. McGough was rushed to a local hospital after life-saving measures. His condition is stable.

“I got hit,” McGough said after being shot, according to body camera footage.

Themel was also shot during the exchange of fire with four other deputies. Seriously injured, he crawled back into the house and barricaded himself inside.

The sheriff’s SWAT team entered the home a short time later and found Themelis and her father both dead from gunshot wounds, Chronister said, according to the New York Post.

Themelis is believed to have died from injuries sustained in the shooting.
