A White House official said on Monday that the US military flew about 10,400 people out of Kabul in 24 hours on Sunday and 61 coalition planes helped evacuate about 5,900 people.
Since August 14, the US has evacuated or helped evacuate 37,000 people from Taliban-controlled Afghanistan, the official said.
