However, some neighbors noticed foul smell from the house on Tuesday evening, after which they informed the police and the matter came to light.
Giving information about this incident, Lucknow’s Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) East Qasim Abidi said that when the police reached the spot after receiving information about foul smell coming from a house in PGI police station area, a 40-year-old woman was found in the room. A pistol was lying with him.
The husband of the deceased is a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) in the Army, who is currently posted in Asansol district of West Bengal. The woman lived with her 16-year-old son and 10-year-old daughter.
When the police first questioned the son of the deceased, he allegedly made up a story that his mother was killed by a person who came to the house to do electrical work. The officers got suspicious of the boy’s statement and spoke to his sister, who revealed the whole incident.
According to ADCP, the boy was addicted to mobile games and social media. His mother used to tell him to stay away from the phone. On Sunday afternoon too, he scolded his son for playing PUBG. When she fell asleep at around 3 pm on Sunday, the son shot her with the father’s licensed pistol.
