Rover Arvind Singh of Bulandshahr in Tokyo Olympics has given good news. In the repechage round of rowing held on Sunday morning, Arvind-Arjun’s team has qualified for the semi-finals by performing well. The men’s lightweight doubles sculls event took place at the Tokyo Olympics on Sunday morning at 6.40am. As Arvind enters the semi-finals, there is an atmosphere of happiness in his family in Bulandshahr.

The Tokyo Olympics has started from 23 July. This time India has sent a 228-member contingent, including 119 players, to the Tokyo Olympics. Of these 119 players, 67 are male and 52 are female players. This is India’s largest contingent in the Olympics so far. India is going to participate in 87 events this time.

The team sent by India includes 10 players from UP. 8 out of 10 players are from West UP. On July 25, medal hopes have been strengthened from two players from Bulandshahr, West UP. In rowing, rower Arvind Singh of Bulandshahr along with his partner Arjun Lal of Rajasthan has entered the semi-finals by participating in the rowing heats. On the other hand, Mairaj Ahmed Khan of Bulandshahr will aim for the medal in the mens skeet of shooting today.

Slow start then increased speed

Arvind Singh played his partner Arjun Lal at 6.40 in the morning. In the repechage, the team faced Venezuela, Uzbekistan, Poland, Spain and Algeria and the pair qualified for the semi-finals. Earlier in the rowing heat, the pair had made their slowest start among the six teams. Gradually Arvind-Arjun increased the speed.

Completed the first 500 meters in 1:37:39 minutes, moving forward to cover the distance of 1000 meters in 3:15:54 minutes. On the 1500 meters the team reached 4:56:00. Even though the pair remained in the sixth position, but in the final 500 meters, the pair increased their speed and completed the race in 6:40:33 minutes to finish fifth and make it to the repechage.

Arvind will extract gold from the waves in the Forest Waterway

A rowing competition took place at Tokyo’s Forest Waterway. Arvind Singh played with his partner. In a short time, the pair had to complete their goal by sailing on the waves of the river. After joining the Indian Army, Arvind handles the stroke associated with rowing. His partner Arjun holds the bow. The pair won an Olympic ticket in the qualifying round held in Tokyo on May 7. In today’s match, the pair has covered a distance of 2 km by boat. In the qualification round, the pair covered the distance in 6:36:92 minutes.

Arvind has been selected for the first time in the Olympics in the lightweight double sculls event. Arvind’s father Vijay Singh says – The son studied in the village till the eighth standard, after which he did high school, Inter Aligarh. Everyone is expecting a medal from Arvind by performing well. Arvind has won the silver medal at the 2019 Asian Championships in Korea Changju. He was trained in the army by the rowing coach Gurdarshan Singh. Along with the Olympics, guidance has been received from National Coach Ismail Baig.

Born on 2 November 1975 in Khurja, Bulandshahr, Mairaj Ahmed Khan will target in the shooting men’s skeet. Mairaj was the first Indian skeet shooter to qualify for the 2016 Rio Olympics at the age of 40. He is also the oldest player of the Indian contingent in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Mairaj Ahmed Khan’s father, brother and uncle have been state level trap shooters. Despite the shooting environment in the family, Mairaj’s dream was a secret. Mairaj was an aggressive batsman

Priyanka Goswami of Meerut will play in the women’s 20 km race walk final at 1 pm on 6th August.
Annu Rani of Meerut will play the javelin throw final on 6th August in the morning at 5:20 am if qualified.
On 7th August at 4.30 pm Shivpal Singh of Chandauli will play in the final round in the javelin throw of Rush.
