New Delhi: A few months ago, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) made the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) available for feature cellphones to include feature phone users in the digital transaction space. UPI 123PAY allows over 40 crore feature phone users to access the popular digital transaction platform without an internet connection.
With the help of 123PAY, users with feature phones can do a variety of transactions digitally using one of four different technology options. Calling an IVR (interactive voice response) number, using an app on a feature phone, using a missed call-based strategy, and proximity voice-based payments are some of them.
Here is the step by step guide to create UPI ID to use 123PAY
– Dial the IVR number (080 4516 3666, 080 4516 3581, or 6366 200 200) from your feature phone from the mobile number which is linked to your bank account.
– On the IVR call, mention the bank name of the account for which you want to register for UPI banking.
– All the accounts of the selected bank will be listed. Select the account you want.
After this the user is asked to set the UPI PIN. You can set your UPI PIN in a few easy steps. You need to enter the last six digits of your bank debit card and the OTP received from the bank. After verification of these details, you can set 4/6 digit UPI PIN for your account.
– If your UPI PIN is already set for the selected account, you can skip the above step of setting UPI PIN
– User profile is created based on the linked bank account
– Once the above steps are completed, users can start using 123PAY service through IVR number facility from their feature phones to make digital payments.
Here is a step by step guide to transfer money through 123PAY via IVR number with your feature phone
– Call the IVR number (080 4516 3666, 080 4516 3581, or 6366 200 200) from the registered feature phone and select the mode of payment – Select Money Transfer here.
Now you will be first validated to complete the registration and then will be redirected to the chosen option.
– For fund transfer, enter the mobile number of the beneficiary to whom you want to transfer funds.
– Confirm details.
– Now, enter the amount you want to transfer.
– Enter your UPI PIN and authorize the money transfer. The transaction will now be completed by debiting your account and crediting the beneficiary’s account.
