Bhubaneswar: East Coast Railway (ECOR) General Manager Vidya Bhushan On Friday, the Rs 1075-crore redevelopment work of Bhubaneswar railway station would start within six months. Speaking to the media after reviewing the redevelopment plan, Bhushan said that the detailed project report and construction planning have already been done. “After finalizing the detailed project estimate, the tender will be floated. Work will start as per rules within six months Memorandum of understanding It was signed between the state government and the ECoR in September 2019,” Bhushan said.
Apart from two additional railway lines, a shopping complex, restaurants, parking lots and other facilities will be provided at the station. Stating that the station would have airport like modern facilities, Bhushan said that the station would be developed into a commercial hub with aesthetic lighting, better signage and better passenger amenities including waiting rooms. “More facilities will be provided of travel public. Apart from this, the circulating area will also be developed and beautified. drainage system will be fully addressed. More parking space will be provided near platform 6.
