UP: Woman murdered, body cut before being dumped
An 18-year-old girl was murdered and her body was cut before being dumped in a sugarcane field, police said on Sunday.
Police have arrested a person in this connection, identified as Santosh Verma, who is in his late 20s.
Police said the woman’s family members have leveled the allegation of rape before the murder.
The girl went missing on June 6 and her family was informed on Saturday that her body was found in a decomposed condition in a sugarcane field.
Her father identified her by her slippers and clothes. The girl’s family claimed that acid was poured on her body to hide her identity.
Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar Saxena said that the accused has been arrested. He said that the body has been sent for post-mortem.
