Fatehpur : A person from a village in the district Fatehpur District was arrested on Sunday for forcing his wife and children to convert and embrace Islam Like him, the police said.
Fatehpur Additional Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar has identified the arrested accused as Vijay. sonkariThey are residents of Purmai village under Khakheru police station of the district.
Sonkar was arrested on the complaint of his wife, who said that her husband, a truck driver, was forcing her and their children to become Muslims.
During interrogation, Sonkar told the police that he had several Muslim friends among the truck drivers and under their influence, he converted to Islam and wanted his wife and children to follow the same religion.
Kumar said Sonkar has admitted that he pressured his wife and children to convert to Islam, following which a case has been registered against him.
