UP school principal throws hot meal on dalit girl; probe ordered | Lucknow News – Times of India

LUCKNOW: A probe has been ordered into allegations of a dalit family that their daughter, a student of class 2 at Icholi village of Tikaitnagar in Barabanki, suffered severe burns on her wrist and hand allegedly after the principal of her school threw hot meal on her. District magistrate Barabanki Adarsh Singh has ordered the probe.
The girl, who is differently abled, reported the matter to officials after which the DM ordered a probe to be conducted by Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) of Barabanki Santosh Pandey.
Additional SP, Barabanki, Purnendu Singh, said the police will act on the report prepared by the BSA and the directions of the DM.
The BSA, who is conducting the probe, said the incident took place on August 29.
“We have taken statements of 800 students who were also being served meals during lunch time and its detailed report will be handed over to the DM,” Pandey added.
On September 3, a woman in Tehsil Diwas gave a written complaint accusing the government school principal of burning the hands of her daughter while serving her mid-day meal.
