The Congress party candidate, Mathur, who suffered multiple fractures in his left arm, was advised to have orthopedic surgery but he had postponed it till the polling in the first phase got over. The four-term MLA told TOI how he could be away from his constituency during campaigning. “Doctors advised me to get admitted for 10 days, which was not possible. I got it fixed temporarily and returned to campaigning and will go for surgery after the polling,” he said.
He said, “BJP has done nothing in the past five years. Sitting MLA Srikant Sharma, who is a cabinet minister too had miserably failed in fulfilling his duties for the people who voted him to power. He was hardly available in the town to listen to people’s voices.” He claimed to get an overwhelming response from the public and for Priyanka’s road show.
