The flag was green in color with a red border at the bottom and a picture of the dome of a mosque in the center.
A case has been registered against a person for allegedly hoisting a green-coloured ‘Islamic flag’ atop a madrassa on Republic Day in Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki. The police gave this information on Thursday.
The incident is of Hussainabad village under Subeha police station area.
Station House Officer (SHO) Sanjeev Kumar Sonkar said, “We had received a complaint that an Islamic flag was hoisted at Madrasa Ashraful Uloom Ima Imdadiya Saken in Hussainabad village on Republic Day.”
The flag was green in color with a red border at the bottom and a picture of the dome of a mosque in the centre.
“We have registered an FIR against one Asif who hoisted the flag. We were also told that madrasa students had also gathered there for Republic Day celebrations.” The SHO said the matter was being probed.
