UP government shares Kovid guidelines for Kanwar Yatra 2021, pilgrimage will start from July 25

UP Kanwar Yatra 2021: The Kanvad Yatra (annual pilgrimage of Shiva devotees) will start from July 25. The pilgrimage is taking place at a time when there is a threat of deadly coronavirus. In such a situation, keeping in mind the risk of Kovid-19, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued instructions to the officials to conduct the pilgrimage smoothly.

CM Yogi instructed that the Kanwar Yatra should be completed by establishing dialogue with the neighboring states. Devotees must follow the COVID-19 protocol for Jalabhishek in Uttarakhand, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.

According to Amit Mohan Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary (Health), Uttar Pradesh, 93 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the state in the last 24 hours. During this, 218 people were discharged. The total number of active cases is 2,032 and a total of 16,82,130 people have been cured so far. The recovery rate is 98.4%.

Uttarakhand Has Banned Kanwar Yatra

At the same time, under the chairmanship of Uttarakhand DGP Ashok Kumar, a meeting was held with police officers of 8 states in Dehradun today regarding the Kanwar Yatra.

DGP Ashok Kumar said, “Like 2020, the Uttarakhand government has also banned Kanwar Yatra due to COVID-19 concerns.”

Uttarakhand DGP appealed to everyone to cooperate and perform Jalabhishek in local temples. Due to the ban, we will have to take action against people going to Haridwar and such people will also be quarantined for 14 days.
