An FIR has been lodged against absconding Samajwadi Party MLA Irfan Solanki for boarding the flight on a fake Aadhaar card and compromising airport security. A police officer gave this information on Tuesday.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Anand Prakash Tiwari said a senior SP woman leader Noori Shaukat and three others who allegedly helped Solanki in obtaining the Aadhaar card have been arrested.

The three others are Ashraf Ali, Anwar Mansoori and Akhtar Mansoori. He has accepted his crime. Tiwari said that two more people, Ishrat Ali and Ammar Elahi, are yet to be arrested.

The MLA is wanted in two criminal cases and had come from Delhi to Mumbai using this fake identity card to evade arrest. The official said that the Aadhaar card had his photograph but his name was written as Ashraf Ali.

The official said the police have seized computers and printers used in making fake ID cards.

Tiwari told reporters that officials in Mumbai and Delhi informed him that Solanki had flown between the two places on November 11 using a fake identity.

“We have obtained CCTV footage from Delhi and Mumbai airports in which MLA Solanki was visible. He is also seen sitting on seat number 31.”

The six were booked under sections 212 (harbouring an offender), 419 (cheating by personation), 420 (cheating), 467 (forgery of valuable security), 468 (forgery for the purpose of cheating), 471 (passing off a forged document as genuine) use) has been registered under and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code.

Tiwari said the police department has decided to approach the court for permission to confiscate Solanki’s property.
