The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday released its second list of candidates.

While there has been no significant reshuffle in the ten assembly seats of Kanpur Nagar, the sitting MLA or runner-up candidates have been fielded in most of the seats.

Meanwhile, Suresh Awasthi, who was runner-up from Sisamau seat in 2017, has been given ticket from Aryanagar. In 2017, he contested from Sisamau and was runner-up. SP’s Irfan Solanki had won this seat.

Kannauj (Sadar) is held by the opposition Samajwadi Party (SP), whose candidate Anil Kumar Dohre defeated BJP’s Banwari Lal Dohre in the 2017 state elections.

From Chhibramau, BJP has fielded sitting MLA Archana Pandey. Pandey defeated Tahir Hussain Siddiqui of Bahujan Samaj Party.

The party has re-elected sitting MLA from Tirwa Kailash Singh Rajput, who defeated Samajwadi Party candidate Vijay Bahadur Pal in 2017.
