Mau police registered a case against him under sections 171F (offence of undue influence or personality in election) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC.
Mau Superintendent of Police Sushil Ghule said, “Apart from registering an FIR against Abbas with the Kotwali police, a report has also been sent to the returning officer of Mau Sadar assembly constituency for taking appropriate action.”
The video clip of Abbas’s speech given in Paharpur area went viral late on Thursday night.
Abbas said, ‘Before leaving Lucknow to contest Mau elections, I spoke to Akhilesh Bhaiya (SP supremo Akhilesh Yadav) in detail, when I said that after the formation of the government, the transfer list of officers should not be issued for six months. The officers will first give an account of their work before their transfer certificates are signed.
