Bareilly. After the alert of the government, the teams of the district administration and health department have become active to deal with the third wave of corona. Instructions have been given to increase tracking and tracing in Bareilly, which is in the list of sensitive districts. The Health Department has formed teams for sampling at railway junctions, toll plazas, bus stations. There will be genome sequencing of those found infected with surveillance of those coming from Mumbai and Delhi.

The Health Department is worried about the new forms of corona virus ‘Delta Plus’ and ‘Kappa’ coming to the fore in the state. These are being described as a replacement for the viruses ‘Delta’ and ‘AY-1’, which are believed to be responsible for the second wave of corona. People found infected with the new form of the virus had returned from other states. A businessman who returned from Mumbai on Saturday was found infected and admitted to the Kovid Hospital. Now the government has also given instructions to increase vigilance. Therefore, the Health Department has fixed the sampling schedule.

Instructions have been given to the team to investigate and monitor those coming from other states especially Mumbai and Delhi. CMO Dr. Sudhir Garg informed that teams will be stationed at Railway Junction, City Station and Izzatnagar Railway Station for sampling. Which will examine the passengers coming from Delhi and Mumbai. Cooperation of GRP and RPF personnel will be taken in sampling.

Many drivers do not stop the bus by saying that no one is traveling to Delhi in the bus. This is affecting the sampling.

Village-city monitoring committees also alert

It is feared that many people can reach Bareilly by changing their vehicles. In such a situation, the monitoring committees, which were active in the village and the city, have been instructed to increase their activity again. District Surveillance Officer Dr. Ranjan Gautam said that the committees have been asked to identify, conduct sampling and monitor the person coming from outside in their area.

Samples will be sent for investigation if found infected

In contact tracing, genome sequencing of the infected will be done after coming in contact with a person recently infected with a Delta Plus, Kappa variant in Mumbai, Delhi. For this the sample will be sent to the Lucknow lab set up by the government. Samples have also been taken for genome sequencing of a person from Mumbai found infected on Saturday.
