UP: AAP MLA, 5 others injured after car overturns on Agra-Lucknow Expressway in Unnao. Kanpur News – Times of India

KANPUR: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Delhi’s Model Town Assembly Constituency Five others were injured when an Innova car overturned on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway in Uttar Pradesh’s Unnao district on Thursday morning.
The accident is of Behta Mujawar police station area.
On receiving the information the team of Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPIDA) and Behta Mujawar police station personnel reached the spot and started rescue operation.
The injured were admitted to the nearest Community Health Center (CHC).
The doctors at the CHC, however, referred AAP MLA Akhilesh Pati Tripathi, who had suffered serious head injuries, to the trauma center in Lucknow.
“The accident happened around 5.15 am when the AAP MLA was on his way from Delhi to Delhi along with five others.” GorakhpurStation House Officer Ramesh Chandra Sahni said.
The SHO said, “His vehicle overturned on the expressway near Tolauva village near Milestone No. 258. The cause of the accident is being investigated.”
Party sources said, however, that the AAP MLA along with five others had gone to Gorakhpur to campaign for the candidates contesting in the sixth phase of the UP assembly elections.
