In a harrowing incident, a man has been apprehended for allegedly abducting a 15-year-old girl and subjecting her to three months of sexual assault. The accused, identified as Pawan Bind, reportedly abducted the girl on May 28 and transported her to Surat in Gujarat. Her ordeal finally came to an end when she was rescued from Ballia’s Gadwar on August 28.
Following a complaint filed by the girl’s father, an FIR was registered, citing charges of rape and kidnapping under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. In her statement to the police, the traumatized girl recounted her ordeal, revealing that she had been taken to Gujarat by the accused, where he not only illegally married her but also subjected her to three months of rape.

Eventually, she was brought back to Ballia, where the authorities intervened to rescue her. The accused was apprehended from the Bisukia Road area on a Saturday.
This distressing incident follows another recent case where a specially-abled 14-year-old girl was reportedly kidnapped and sexually assaulted in a moving taxi in Mumbai. Two men, including the taxi driver, have been arrested in connection with this case. Both of them face charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
