Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia’s son appointed as Vice President of Gwalior Cricket Association

Gwalior: Union minister and BJP leader Jyotiraditya Scindia’s son Mahanarayan Scindia was on Sunday appointed vice-president of the Gwalior Division Cricket Association (GDCA), a functionary of the organization said.

Association secretary Sanjay Ahuja said 26-year-old Mahanarayan has been appointed as the vice-chairman of GDCA in the new executive committee announced on Sunday after the organization’s annual general meeting held recently.

He said that former IAS officer Prashant Mehta has been appointed as its new chairman.

Ahuja said that Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia is the patron of GDCA.

Talking to news agency Press Trust of India (PTI), BJP leader Pankaj Chaturvedi, who was close to the Scindia family, said that Mahanarayan has been a sports lover and his appointment will bring forth the cricketing talent of Gwalior division.

“It should not be seen as political. He is a cricket lover and is working closely to strengthen facilities for the players in this area.
