Police meets Gurdwara managers.

The Center has issued an alert to the Punjab government on the incidents of sacrilege ahead of the Punjab Assembly elections. The Union Home Ministry has asked to increase the security of all gurdwaras, deras, temples and all religious places in Punjab. The Home Ministry has said that anti-national elements may try to incite religious sentiments in Punjab.

The Center fears that the atmosphere in Punjab can be instigated by using the religious place. The atmosphere of religious harmony in Punjab can be disturbed through any other kind of incident with sacrilege. The state government has also become alert after the inputs received from the Centre. After which orders have been given to install CCTV cameras in all religious places and deployment of security personnel.

ADGP sent orders to officers

The ADGP Law and Order of Punjab has sent a plan to strengthen the security to all the Police Commissioners and SSPs. It has been said that in view of the sacrilege and the atmosphere that followed, the police chiefs of the districts themselves should monitor the entire security system. If any such information comes from anywhere, then act on it immediately.

Management and officers give numbers to each other: Gazetted officers or SHOs should go to religious places in their districts and cities and give their phone numbers to the management and also keep their numbers. So that they can have better coordination with each other in times of need.

Install CCTV cameras: CCTV cameras should be installed at all religious places. Especially in all Gurdwara Sahib there should be CCTV surveillance system at all times. All CCTV cameras should be in working condition. There should also be a complete arrangement of lighting.

Recording of entry and lighting points: CCTV cameras should be installed in such a way that they can record every movement of the people coming and going from all the entry gates. Apart from this, the place where there is light of the holy Sri Guru Granth Sahib, that place should also be under CCTV surveillance. These cameras are regularly checked by the manager of Gurdwara Sahib. These cameras should be running continuously.

Full light at night: The DVR of CCTV should have adequate recording capability. It should be placed in such a place where no one can see easily so that no mischievous element can harm it or take it with them. There should be full illumination inside religious places. Especially, there should be complete arrangement of light in Gurdwara Sahib at night.

Guard Deployment: Security personnel or guards should be posted in all Gurdwara Sahibs. who guard the entire campus. There should be an alternative arrangement of electricity for CCTV cameras so that even if the light goes out, the cameras keep running.

Police Commissioner and SSP should also check: The Police Commissioner and SSP keep checking their work regularly. Recording of cameras should be kept for at least 30 days. If there is any defect in the cameras or they are not working, then the management of Gurdwara Sahib should get it fixed immediately. As long as the cameras are fine, it should be monitored through security personnel.

Increase patrolling: Police teams keep checking these cameras by visiting religious places. Apart from this, the servicemen should also be asked to keep an eye. Patrolling should be increased at night outside religious places.

Incidents in Amritsar and Kapurthala
In Punjab, there was an attempt at sacrilege at Sri Darbar Sahib in Amritsar on Saturday. In which the Sikh Sangat overpowered the accused. However, later the mob thrashed him to death. After this, allegations of sacrilege were also raised in Nizampur More Gurdwara of Kapurthala on Sunday morning. Gurdwara managers said that the accused youth was sabotaging Nishan Sahib. He too was beaten to death by the mob.

Concern over elections
Elections are going to be held soon in Punjab. Now the concern of the government has increased regarding this. Soon after the sacrilege incident in Amritsar, the police was put on high alert. However, after two consecutive incidents of sacrilege and the murder of the accused in it, the atmosphere in Punjab remains tense. Due to which now the police do not want to allow any such incident to happen, which in any way disturbs the communal harmony in the election state.
