Union Home Minister Amit Shah pays tribute to Pulwama martyrs on the last day of his visit to Jammu and Kashmir

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who was on a four-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir, paid tributes to the 40 CRPF jawans who were martyred in the deadly Pulwama terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir in February 2019.

Shah ended his visit to the Valley by paying floral tributes at the memorial built last year for the victims of the attack by Jaish-e-Mohammed.

Later the Home Minister took to Twitter to pay tribute to the martyrs.

“At the Pulwama Martyrs Memorial, paid homage to the CRPF jawans who were martyred in the cowardly attack. The supreme sacrifice you made for the security of the nation strengthens our resolve to eliminate the menace of terrorism. My tributes to the brave martyrs, “He tweeted in Hindi.

Shah also planted a sapling in the memory of the martyrs on Tuesday.

Amit Shah removes bulletproof shield to talk to J&K mob

Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed a gathering at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Center (SKICC) in Srinagar on Monday, the third day of his visit to Jammu and Kashmir. He removed the bulletproof glass shield while speaking to the people of the Union Territory, saying he “wants to speak openly to them”.

Shah said, “I was taunted, condemned… today I want to talk to you openly, so there is no bullet proof shield or protection here.” This is his first visit to Jammu and Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019.
