Under-19 World Cup: India beat Uganda by 326 runs, Raj Bawa breaks all-time record

India U19 registered a massive win against Uganda U19 as the four-time champions beat the African team by 326 runs. This is the second best margin of victory in U19 cricket.

The credit for scoring 405 runs in the first innings goes to the Indian batsmen. Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Raj Bawa scored centuries to take India’s score to 405. Raj Bawa scored 162 runs in 108 balls and batted at No. 4. He surpassed Shikhar Dhawan, who held the record for the highest score in U19 cricket by an Indian batsman.

The Bawa-Raghuvanshi pair added 206 runs to the Indian total. In U19 cricket, only Australia has a bigger winning margin than India.

When India came out to bowl, Nishant Sandhu laid a net around the Ugandan batsmen as they stumbled without bothering the scorers. He took 4 wickets.

Raj Bawa was adjudged the man of the match for his brilliant batting performance. His 162 will go down in history as one of the best U19 WC knocks ever played. Bawa said that he is a big fan of Yuvraj Singh and liked his style of batting. He hails from Himachal Pradesh and deserves to be a proper all-rounder as he also bowls at a consistent pace.

India will now face Bangladesh in the quarter-finals of the ICC Under-19 World Cup.
