Gorakhpur: The body of a teenager was found hanging from the railing on Tuesday morning on Patnawa bridge under Rampurkarkhana police station area of ​​Deoria district. Police have sent the body for postmortem. No case was registered in connection with the incident till the filing of this news.
The body has been identified as 17-year-old Neha Paswan, daughter of Amarnath Paswan of Sevarahi Kharag under Mahuadih police station of Deoria district. The girl’s younger brother Vivek told reporters that on Monday evening her uncle Arvind started thrashing her sister for doing laundry. The injured girl was taken to the district hospital by her maternal uncle but she died on the way to the hospital. His uncles threw his body from the Patnawa bridge but instead of falling down got stuck on the railing of the bridge.
The girl’s father Amarnath Paswan, the eldest of four brothers, works in a private company in Punjab. The whole family lives in a house in Severahi Kharag village. Neha was a student of class 9 and her brother Vivek studies in class 8.
“The girl was beaten up by her uncles and when she died they dumped her body from Patnahwa bridge but the body got stuck on the railing of the bridge. The postmortem report is awaited and an FIR will be registered based on the complaint and the postmortem report,” said SP Dr Sripati Mishra.
