An eight-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her uncle for several days after she was brought to Guwahati from her parents’ house in Kamrup district, a police officer said on Saturday. The girl’s parents live at a place under Sualkuchi police station area.
Police said the incident took place during the Bihu festival in mid-January last month when her uncle took her to Guwahati and allegedly raped her for several days. When she returned home, the girl told everything to her mother, who along with her father lodged a police complaint.
Police have started investigation by registering an FIR. The officer said that the accused is absconding.
