‘Unacceptable’: India slams J&K references to Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

India on Thursday criticized the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) with reference to Jammu and Kashmir and said the body has no authority in matters relating to the Union Territory, which is an integral part of the country.

“We categorically reject another inadmissible reference to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir issued by the Secretary General of the OIC. The OIC has no authority in matters relating to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, which is an integral part of India. ” The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said in a statement.

India also advised the Secretary General of the OIC not to take advantage of his platform for comments on the country’s internal affairs.

“It is reiterated that the OIC Secretary-General should refrain from allowing vested interests to exploit his platform for comments on India’s internal affairs,” the statement said.

The OIC had called for quashing the decisions taken by the government in August 2019 with regard to Jammu and Kashmir.
