Ulhasnagar: Two Shiv Sena members attacked while returning from last rites of party corporator | Thane News – Times of India

KALYAN: In a shocking incident, eight people with sword attacked two Shiv Sena workers when they were coming from Shamshan Bhumi after attending last rites of party corporator Aaksh Patilwho was died of heart attack, in Ulhasnagar.
The local Hill Line police has arrested one person Ravi Jaisinghani and searching for seven more accused including main accused Vijay Patil who is on the run.
The police said on Tuesday afternoon that after Shiv Sena corporator Aakash Patil’s sudden death due to heart attack, his relatives, friends and Shiv Sena workers in large numbers had gathered at Ulhasnagar 5 number based Shanshan bhumi,
After doing last rites when the people were returning from Shamshan bhumi, eight people waiting outside in parked auto rickshaw attacked Shree Babu Patil and his brother Prasad Patil with sword injuring them badly.
Looking at sudden attack, some people including Shiv Sena workers fled from spot while some managed to nab one accused identified as Ravi Jaisinghani while others managed to escape from the spot.
Prashant Mohite, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone 4 of Thane police said, “The primary probe has revealed that main accused Vijay Patil who is on run is cousin brother of injured brothers and they have old enmity”.
Mohite said, “The victims in statement told that since they were complaining against the accused due to which they attacked them, adding further probe is on”.
