When contacted, Choudhary said that the attack was a lesson for Ramchandani to defame the army on social media.
“There are many other BJP leaders, but they don’t spread negative things about Shiv Sena on social media like Ramchandani. For Ramchandani, this lesson was long overdue and we Shiv Sainiks have enough now,” he said.
He said that if BJP leaders continue with their remarks on the party, the Shiv Sena will respond “in its own style” and that the attack on Ramchandani was just a “prasad” (reward) for his actions.
Clashes broke out across Mumbai on Tuesday after Rane said he “must have slapped Uddhav Thackeray” for allegedly not remembering the year of India’s independence.
Rane was arrested in the evening for his “derogatory remarks”, but was later granted bail by a magistrate’s court.
