Ukraine crisis: Indian students in Sumi advised to be ready to leave at short notice

new Delhi: The Indian Embassy in Ukraine on Sunday issued an advisory for students stranded in Sumi to be prepared to leave for the western border at short notice.

The embassy wrote on Twitter, “Indian Embassy team is stationed in the city of Poltava, to evacuate Indian students stranded in Sumi to the western borders via Poltava. The confirmation time and date will be released soon. Advised Indian students to be ready to leave at short notice.

Meanwhile, fresh advisories were issued by the Indian embassy in Hungary and Ukraine for Indian citizens.

Embassies in Hungary and Ukraine took to their Twitter handles and asked the stranded students to stay in their residences to arrive at the Hungarian city center in Budapest between 10am and noon and also fill out a Google form on an ‘urgent basis’ .

Union Minister General VK Singh, who is present in Poland, tweeted on Sunday that Harjot Singh, an Indian student who was shot dead in Ukraine’s Kyiv, will return on Monday as part of ‘Operation Ganga’.
