There are many people who might have shifted to a new address or who might have changed their mobile numbers. Some may be willing to get their photo updated and some may be looking for improvements. So if you want to change your Aadhaar data like address, photo, mobile number and any other details, below is a step-by-step guide to help you do so:

How to update Aadhaar photo online/offline? Step-by-Step Guide:

You must know that UIDAI does not allow people to update their photographs online. For this you have to visit the Aadhaar Enrollment Centre. Follow these steps to make your photo updation hassle free:

  • Go to the official website of UIDAI at uidai.gov.in.
  • Go to My Aadhaar Section and View Downloads
  • From the download section, download the Aadhaar Enrollment/Update Form
  • Enter your Aadhaar number and name. No need to fill all the details. Tick ​​’Biometric Update’.
  • Attach a photocopy of your Aadhaar along with it
  • Visit the nearest Aadhaar Enrollment Centre, also carry your original Aadhaar
  • Submit the form and required documents
  • operator will click a new photo
  • Pay the required fee (Rs.100 plus GST) and get your acknowledgment slip.
  • Your Aadhaar data will be updated within two weeks and you will receive a new Aadhaar at your registered address.

How to update address on your Aadhaar card? Step-by-Step Guide:

This is one of the online services provided by UIDAI and you do not need to visit the enrollment center to change your address. All you need is valid address proof which can be your Voter ID, Gas/Electricity/Water Bill, Passport or any other document listed on UIDAI website.

  • Go to the website of UIDAI at uidai.gov.in.
  • Go to the ‘My Aadhaar’ tab.
  • Click on ‘Update Demographic Data and Check Status’
  • A new window will open asking you to login.
  • Click on login and enter your Aadhaar number as well as security captcha as shown
  • Click on Send OTP to receive OTP on your registered mobile number.
  • After logging in using OTP verification go to ‘Update Demographic Data’ option.
  • Now click on ‘Update Name/Gender/Date of Birth and Address’
  • Then click on Update Aadhaar Online (first option in the row).
  • After this, click on the option ‘Proceed to Aadhaar Update’ at the bottom
  • Now click on the Address option in the list of four available options; The first three are – Name, Date of Birth, Gender while the fourth is the address.
  • After clicking on the address, click on Proceed to Update Aadhaar
  • Now, the page will show your old address, below that you have to enter your new address
  • After entering your new address, select the supporting document from the drop-down menu
  • Then click on the option ‘view details and upload documents’
  • After that click on Next
  • Make the required payment.
  • Then click on OTP verification, enter OTP received on your mobile number
  • Submit the OTP to verify and generate the acknowledgment receipt and DONE. Your data will be updated within two weeks.

Unlike your photo, you cannot update your mobile number online. For this you have to visit the Aadhaar Enrollment Centre. Follow these steps to make your photo updation hassle free:

  • Go to the official website of UIDAI at uidai.gov.in.
  • Go to My Aadhaar Section and View Downloads
  • From the download section, download the Aadhaar Enrollment/Update Form
  • Enter your Aadhaar number, name and new mobile number which you want to link with Aadhaar. Tick ​​the ‘Mobile’ option.
  • No need to fill all the details. Attach a photocopy of your Aadhaar along with it.
  • Visit the nearest Aadhaar Enrollment Centre, also carry your original Aadhaar
  • Submit the form and required documents
  • Operator will update the details in the system.
  • Pay the required fee (Rs.50 including GST) and get your acknowledgment slip.
  • Your Aadhaar data will be updated within two weeks and you will receive a new Aadhaar at your registered address.

You can also order an Aadhaar PVC card from the UIDAI website by paying a nominal fee of Rs 50.
