Dutch powerhouse Ajax is set to host Germany’s Borussia Dortmund on the third day of the UEFA Champions League at the Johan Cruyff Arena on Wednesday. Ajax are leading the game in their home league after beating Jonny Jensen’s Heerenveen 2–0.
Borussia Dortmund also emerged victorious in their previous matchup as they defeated Bo Svensson’s Mainz 3–1 in Germany’s top-tier league. Borussia Dortmund and Ajax have both won two games each in their four head-to-head encounters so far.
The UCL match between Ajax and Borussia Dortmund is scheduled to start at 12:30 PM (IST).

Borussia Dortmund will come into this game with a long absence list. Dortmund’s Portugal international Rafael Guerreiro, his German striker Yusuf Moukoko and Spanish right-back Matu More have been ruled out of the game due to injuries. The availability of Ajax’s American footballer Giovanni Reyna, French centre-back Dan-Axel Zagadou, German midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud and left-back Marcel Schmelzer have also not been confirmed for the game.
