Udupi: 3 arrested in murder case | Mangaluru News – Times of India

UDUPI: The police have arrested three persons in connection with the murder of Vinay Poojary, 26. The arrested are Akshay, Praveen Poojary, and Sathish Poojary. Udupi SP Hakay Akshay Machhindra said investigation revealed that it was a case of a drunken brawl.
They had all been swimming and had food later. Following this, Akshay and Vinay had a clash over a petty issue and Akshay allegedly strangled Vinay. The other two were witnesses and helped the accused to stay away for many days. “These men were not regular friends and met only occasionally,” SP said.
The family of Vinay from Koteshwara village in Kundapur filed a missing complaint on March 28. On April 4, a decomposed body was found in the Varahi stream of Amparu village. The family recognised him because of a tatoo. Vinay’s uncle Sheena suspected foul play and filed a case. The medical report revealed he was strangled to death.
