The deceased Maoists have been identified as Sunita, Area Committee Member (ACM) and commander of Bhoramdeo Committee, a wing of the Maoists, and Sarita Khatia Mocha, active in ACM and Vistar Dalam.

Two women Naxalites carrying a reward of Rs 28 lakh were collectively killed in an encounter with security forces in Madhya Pradesh’s Balaghat district on Saturday. A police officer gave this information.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Sameer Saurabh said the face-off took place in Kadla forest area under Garhi police station area in the early hours.

The slain Maoists have been identified as Sunita, Area Committee Member (ACM) and commander of Bhoramdeo Committee, a wing of the Maoists, and Sarita Khatia Mocha, active in ACM and Vistar Dalam, he said.

The officer said that both had a reward of Rs 14 lakh each.

Guns, cartridges, some other ammunition and Naxal literature were recovered from them, he said, adding that a search operation was on in the area.
