Two Thane Women Caught With Md Worth ₹21 Lakh | Surat News – Times of India

SURAT: Two women from Thane in Maharashtra were caught by the city crime branch with 209-gram mephedrone worth Rs 21 lakh. Hina Shaukat Ali Shaikh, 35 and Hashmat Irfan Saiyed, 37, both residents of Mumbra in Thane reached the city by train.
Following specific information, crime branch team frisked the women when they were waiting near old Sardar Market on the Ring Road.
Police found a pouch of drugs and a tiny weighing machine that they used to weigh the drugs while selling. “They came to the city believing that police won’t doubt women. However, we had specific information based on which they were caught,” said a police officer.
Saiyed’s husband Irfan has been arrested for selling drugs by Maharashtra police in the past. “We are investigating if the women had sold drugs in the city earlier also. We are trying to identify buyers of the drugs,” said police.
