Two LeT terrorists killed in gunfight with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Budgam

Srinagar: Two terrorists killed in a brief encounter in Budgam have been identified and were affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists, Additional Director General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar said on Tuesday. An army official said the troops set up a mobile vehicle check post at Budgam following information about movement of terrorists in the area. “A cab was signaled to stop for checking, but the terrorists inside opened fire on the security forces, which was retaliated,” the official said.

Confirming the incident, Kashmir Zone Police tweeted, “On specific input, Joint Area Control Party of Army and Police tried to intercept a suspicious vehicle, terrorists fired and in retaliatory action two terrorists were killed.” / Ammunition recovered. Details will follow.”

Later, ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar said, “Both the slain terrorists have been identified as Arbaz Mir and Shahid Sheikh of Pulwama, linked to proscribed terrorist outfit Lashkar. The terrorists earlier escaped from the recent encounter were.”
