Two die in accident on Mumbai-Agra national highway , 4 killed in 8 days | Nashik News – Times of India

NASHIK: Two men died when a car rammed a moving truck near Vilholi area on the Mumbai-Agra national highway at 3.45 am on Friday.
According to the highway police, the accident took place near the ‘8th mile’ that is approximately 13 km from Nashik city. The police said that the car was headed to Madhya Pradesh from Mumbai when the accident took place at the spot near a bridge. They said the accident must have occurred due to speeding. In the past eight days, two more accidents were reported in the Kasara ghat area, a few km from the 8th mile, killing one person in each accident. Abhilash Botekar reports,
While the driver of the car, Vishwajeet Sogra, 24, resident of Madhya Pradesh, was killed on the spot, five others travelling in the car were injured – two of them seriously. The driver’s body could be taken out with the help of a crane.
Amol Walzhade, assistant police inspector of Maharashtra highway police, said the accident must have occurred due to over speeding. It is the third fatal accident in the past eight days. Abhijeet Kulkarni, chairman, Nashik First, said the road condition, driver’s alertness and sticking to speed regulations is the guarantee for safe driving.
