Two dead, four missing while bathing in Odisha river after Holi
Two youths were killed and four others went missing while bathing in Kharsota river after Holi celebrations in Odisha’s Jajpur district on Friday.
Seven youths went to bathe in the river at Mangala Ghat near Badsuara village this afternoon after playing Holi. However, Sarpanch Anupama Biswal told that they were washed away in the strong current of the river.
Fire brigade personnel reached the spot and started the rescue operation. Ajay Jena of Jajpur city police station said that one of the rescued persons has been taken to Jajpur hospital.
Two bodies had been retrieved by evening, officials said.
