Twitter suspends ‘Kantara’ actor and activist Kishore’s account

Bengaluru: Twitter has suspended the account of popular South Indian actor Kishore. An activist, especially on farmers’ problems, Kishor is known to express his views without any fear.

It is his candor that attracts people to his tweets, but he is yet to react to the suspension of his Twitter account.

Kishor had earlier supported Sai Pallavi’s controversial statement comparing the killings of Kashmiri Pandits to the killings of Muslims. She questioned the media for attacking the multiple award-winning actress turned medical doctor and asked journalists whether it was a crime for film personalities to voice opinions on social issues.

The actor who played the main antagonist (a police officer) against Rishabh Shetty in the superhit `Kantara` has spoken against superstition.

On ‘Kantara’, he had said that like all good films, it too united people cutting across the boundaries of caste, religion and language. It is creating awareness through entertainment. He said that if cinema is used to promote superstition and divide people by inciting communal feelings, then even a big film would be the biggest defeat of humanity.
