Twitter reactions: Fans cheer as England enter first Euro final

England fans are dreaming after their team’s 2-1 win over Denmark which paved the way for their first Euro final where they meet Italy on Sunday. Gareth Southgate’s men conceded a goal behind their goal, allowing them to compete in extra-time.

And then Raheem Sterling won a controversial penalty that Harry Kane put behind the next on the rebound after Danish goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel saved his opening effort.

This was encouraging to England fans, but Danish fans were heartbroken, resulting in opposite reactions on Twitter.

England fans know the grief of losing the semi-finals. In the 2018 FIFA World Cup, England made it to the last-four stage where Croatia beat them 2–1 in extra time.

This time however, they were on the other side of a similar scoreline and the result was their first appearance in a major international tournament in 55 years.
