Twitter locks IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad’s account

Amid a tussle between Twitter and the central government over the new IT rules, Union Electronics and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad was denied access to his Twitter account for nearly an hour over alleged violation of the US’s Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

Although he was later allowed access to the account, the minister called the action by US-headquartered Twitter a “gross violation of IT guidelines”. He shared a post on Kuo, a micro-blogging platform made in India.
