Tesla CEO Elon Musk is popular not only for heading the most valuable electric vehicle (EV) company, but also for his scathing comments on Twitter. Often seen tweeting about cryptocurrencies and AI, the 50-year-old billionaire doesn’t shy away from sharing memes that most professionals in the strictest corporate environment would hesitate. It’s no secret that publishing something “controversial” on a micro-blogging platform can even get you fired. It’s an age-old debate that old internet users like to repeat, ‘speak without consequence.’ So, Musk has turned this fuss into a meme with this weird one-liner that some might even consider a warning.

The latest meme shared by him is a picture of Twitter with the text, “Be fired from your job in five to ten years.” It also added, “Say something you want.” Although it is not easily understood, it may be reminiscent of a childhood lesson, ‘Think before you speak.’ What makes this tweet even more interesting is Musk’s own comment that read, “Good thing I never tweeted anything controversial.”

This is clearly a joke because the Tesla CEO recently got into trouble after he decided to sell some of his Tesla shares based on a Twitter poll. Tesla investor David Wagner has sued Musk for allegedly violating agreements with the US securities regulator. He was also sued by a US regulator in 2018 after joking about taking Tesla private. The allegations claim that Musk’s tweets manipulated Tesla’s share prices on the stock exchange.

He was also panned by some crypto enthusiasts after calling the new internet buzzword ‘web3’ “BS”. In simple words, Web 3 is an evolution of the ‘World Wide Web’ which now includes Blockchains. It allows users to be stakeholders instead. Being the only viewer or uploader. In his earlier tweet, he claimed that Web3 is “more marketing buzz than reality right now.” However, it looks like he sees Web3 as a reality in the future, but we’re not there yet. Former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey shared the same sentiment.
