Actor Sheezaan Khan, arrested for allegedly abetting the suicide of his co-star Tunisha Sharma, has moved the Bombay High Court seeking bail and quashing of the case. Khan, in his petition, has said that making and breaking up relationships is a normal aspect of life and hence he cannot be held responsible for Tunisha’s death. Khan’s bail plea will be heard by a single bench of Justice MS Karnik on Tuesday, while his second plea seeking quashing of the FIR and release on interim bail is likely to be heard by a division bench of Justices Revati Mohite Dere and PK Chavan. 30 January.
Tunisha (21), who worked in the TV serial Ali Baba: Dastan-e-Kabul, was found hanging in the washroom on the sets of the serial near Vasai in Maharashtra’s Palghar district on December 24, 2022. Khan (28) was arrested next for alleged incitement. He is currently lodged in Thane jail.
Seeking quashing of the case, Khan said that if there is any kind of relationship between two people and if the relationship ends mutually or even by one of them, then only the fact of suicide by the other person does not justify registration. An offense under section 306 of the IPC with consequences for arrest and detention.

The petition states that there is nothing in Khan’s case to show that he had done any act with the intention of driving Tunisha Sharma to commit suicide. It added, “Absolutely no such state of mind (intention) has been stated or for that matter the acts and deeds which created the state of mind to commit the offense alleged by the applicant,” it said.
It has been said in the petition that forming relationships and breaking relationships are normal aspects of life. “That the victim has been in several relationships before and that the present relationship also ended on a good note. The break-up was mutual and about two weeks ago and the victim accepted that as such the break-up should not be seen as a could.” Due to the direct action and proximate cause, the victim is left with no other option but to commit suicide.”

Khan and Tunisha have featured in a few television serials and were said to be in a relationship which reportedly ended a few weeks ago after Tunisha was found hanging on the production set of the show.
