Mumbai: As the police custody of TV actor Sheezan Khan, the main accused in Tunisha Sharma’s death case, ends on Saturday, Maharashtra’s Waliv police is about to produce him in Vasai court.

Sheezan Khan is a co-star and reports ex-boyfriend of Tunisha who was allegedly found hanging on the sets of a TV serial on December 24, barely 15 days after she quit it.

Khan, 28, was arrested on December 25 on charges of abetment to suicide.

The Vasai court on Friday sent accused Sheejan to police custody till Aaj Tak.

Police have so far recorded statements of 27 people in the case.

According to the police, Sheejan is not cooperating with the investigation and repeatedly changes his statements when asked about his chats with his “secret girlfriend”.

The Waliv police had on Friday moved the court seeking five-day remand of Sheejan Khan, who the officials alleged was having an affair with another girl.

After being taken into custody in the Tunisha Sharma death case, Tunisha Sharma had also deleted several chats from her mobile.

Police said that according to some of the recovered chats, the accused used to talk to several other girls as well.

During investigation several important chats have been found on the accused’s mobile, in which it has been revealed that the accused had started avoiding Tunisha after the breakup. Tunisha used to message him repeatedly, but the accused avoided her by not replying.

Addressing a press conference in Mumbai on Friday, Tunisha’s mother Vanita Sharma made several allegations against Sheejan and also raised suspicion of “murder”.

“Sheejan took her from the room but did not call an ambulance. It might as well be a murder, how is it possible that she was found in Sheezan’s room and it was Sheezan who brought her down but didn’t call an ambulance or doctors? Sheejan also forced her to wear hijab,” Vanita Sharma said while addressing a press conference.

She also claimed that Sheezan was cheating on Tunisha despite being involved with her family including her mother and sisters.

“Tunisha once checked his (Sheezan Khan) phone and found that he was cheating on her. On confronting Sheezan, he slapped her in his room on the sets and said she can do whatever she wants,” said Vanita Sharma.

Vanitha said that when she herself asked Shezaan why he cheated on her daughter, Tunisha’s Ali Baba: Dastaan-e-Kabul costar, he replied in the same tone and said that “they can do whatever they want”.

“I am sorry aunty. there’s nothing I can do. Do whatever you want,” Tunisha’s mother quoted accused Sheejan as saying. Vanitha had visited her daughter’s sets a day before she died.

Confident of Sheezan’s non-guilt in the death case, his lawyer said on Friday: “It has become clear that the police have no evidence against Sheezan. All the allegations leveled by Tunisha’s mother are baseless. Police Case is investigating, we should wait. I have full faith that Sheezan will be found not guilty.”

On the allegations of Tunisha’s mother, Sheezan Khan’s sister Falak Naaz said that they will talk to the media soon.

She said, ‘I will soon answer the allegations made by Tunisha’s mother in the press conference. Right now our priority is our brother who is in police custody.
