TS government honored women journalists on the eve of International Women’s Day

Hyderabad: On the eve of International Women’s Day, Telangana government honored women journalists through various means. IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao spoke a lot about the exemplary work done so far by the women journalists of Telangana.

Speaking about the role of women in his life and his personal life experiences, Rama Rao said, “We Indian men realize the importance of women in our lives only when we leave our home alone. start living. That’s how I learned what kind of work my mom used to do when I left home and started living alone.

Women are multi-taskers and work long hours in the office and take care of the family back home. This reality has to be changed if we really want to develop the society.”

The event was organized by the Department of Information and Public Relations (I&PR) and around 80 women journalists from print, digital and TV media were honored for their service in journalism.

Women and Child Welfare Minister Satyavati Rathod and Education Minister Sabita Indra Reddy were also present. He elaborated on the various initiatives taken by the Telangana government to improve the lives of women. Programs like Aarogya Lakshmi, KCR Kit, Shaadi Mubarak, Aasara Pension are enabling women in Telangana to move ahead in their lives. Women journalists from Telangana Today Shruti Sarma, Shanti Nanisetty and Shruti Venugopal were also felicitated on the occasion.
